Express.co.uk reports, HE MAY have promised that One Direction will reunite eventually, but Liam Payne is still pushing on with his solo career as he officially registers a new track.
The popstar - whose girlfriend is former Girls Aloud performer Cheryl - is said to have recorded a song called Myself, created alongside some of the industry’s biggest hitmakers.
He is said to have worked with Emily Warren, Nick Monson and Scott Harris; who between them have written and produced for Lady Gaga, Little Mix, Britney Spears, Selena Gomez and Jessie J.
The information came to light when the registration info was spotted on the database of international music rights organisation, BMI - according to The Mirror.
His labelmate Calum Scott had previously dropped hints about the boyband icon’s work, telling BANG Showbiz: "I was in the studio with Liam the other day. I heard a few of his songs.
They are sounding amazing. I'd love to do something with him."
The 23-year-old had only recently promised he was “100 percent certain” 1D would get back together after launching their hiatus earlier this year.
When a fan asked: “Will One Direction ever get back together?”, he replied on Twitter: “I’m [100 emoji] certain that we will.”
When another probed him on his album plans, he teased: “Listen yeahhhhhh albums coming soon!!!!!! Hol tight for da rewind.”
Already three of Liam’s bandmates have launched their own independent ventures: Zayn, who actually quit the band, bagged a No1 single and album in the first months of the year.
Niall Horan then landed a Top 10 debut with This Town, and Louis Tomlinson is currently at No2 in the UK charts with his own song Just Hold On, a collaboration with DJ Steve Aoki.
Harry Styles has also signed a solo deal and is due to release material in 2017.
