Perhaps it’s a welcome break from waiting for Louis’ upcoming court date – after he has been forced to wait to see if he faces charges over an airport altercation from last month.
A spokesman for the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office said: ‘A filing decision will not be made today. Our prosecutors are still reviewing the case.’
A new court date will be set if charges are filed against Tomlinson, he added.
Louis was arrested on March 3 following a clash at Los Angeles International Airport with a photographer who was trying to get photos of him and his girlfriend, Eleanor Calder.
A video surfaced at the time, obtained by RadarOnline, showing Louis intervene when one pap gets in Eleanor’s face. As he tries to stop the photographer from following his girlfriend, he slips and both he and the pap fall to the ground.
Eleanor was then attacked by a group of girls who pin her against the wall and drag her to the floor until others intervene and Louis is again dragged to the ground as he rushes to her defence.
His lawyers jumped to his defence, claiming he was ‘provoked’ by the pap. Calder is believed to have become involved in an argument with onlookers and Louis was running to her defence.
At the time, Louis’ lawyer, Martin Singer, said: ‘The paparazzi provoked and caused the altercation that occurred with Louis at the airport.
‘This is not the first or last time that a paparazzi has created an altercation with a celebrity.
‘While the altercation was going on with the paparazzi, three other individuals were attacking his girlfriend during this incident and he came to her defence.’
A spokesman for the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office said: ‘The matter is still under review by our office. If no decision is made by (Wednesday), a new court date will be scheduled.’
Bail was set at 20,000 dollars (£16,000) but a source said Tomlinson did not have to pay it as he was released under his own recognisance, in which a person pledges in writing to appear in all court proceedings.
Louis, whose mum Johannah Deakin died in December after losing her battle with leukaemia, reunited with Calder earlier this year after splitting with her following a three year relationship in March 2015.
